Worm War I is a bottom up shooter type game released in 1982 for the Atari 2600 by 20th Century Fox.
The game is similar to games such as Space Invaders in which the player controls a tank firing at large worms. The screen auto scrolls up as the worms and blocks move down. Every time all the worms are wiped out, a new set spawns at the top of the screen. The game goes 99 waves. Other than shooting worms, there are mushrooms, which can be shot to clear all the worms.
You can control this game easily by using the keyboard of your PC (see the table next to the game). However, for maximum gaming enjoyment, we strongly recommend using a USB joystick that you simply plug into the USB port of your computer. If you do not have a joystick, buy a suitable USB controller in Amazon or in some of your favorite online stores.
