   'Fantasy' is a Czech text adventure game developed by Jiří Dobrý and Michal Novotný and released in 1992 under KvachSoft for DOS. Created by the developers at a young age, the game achieved recognition in the Duhová Disketa competition, where it won an award and was personally acknowledged by the Czech Minister of Informatics. The game’s storyline follows the protagonist’s quest to rescue Princess Efarka, who was kidnapped by the evil wizard Limor Kloys. Influenced by classic fantasy themes, 'Fantasy' integrates elements of text-based gameplay with visual cues, offering an immersive experience enhanced by custom-made visuals and sound effects.
   The gameplay combines simple text commands with unique illustrations that respond to player actions, which was innovative for the genre at the time. Players navigate a labyrinthine underground world, encountering various creatures and recruiting allies such as a wizard, a thief, and a ranger. Each character has unique skills essential for overcoming obstacles. Despite limitations, 'Fantasy' is remembered for its pioneering spirit, combining Czech creativity with programming skills, setting a foundation for future adventure games by the same developers.

This ver­sion of Fantasy was de­sig­ned for per­so­nal com­pu­ters with o­pe­ra­ting sys­tem MS-DOS (Mi­cro­soft Disk O­pe­ra­ting Sys­tem), which was o­pe­ra­ting sys­tem de­ve­lo­ped by Mi­cro­soft in 1981. It was the most wi­de­ly-used o­pe­ra­ting sys­tem in the first half of the 1990s. MS-DOS was sup­plied with most of the IBM com­pu­ters that pur­cha­sed a li­cen­se from Mi­cro­soft. Af­ter 1995, it was pu­s­hed out by a gra­phi­cal­ly mo­re ad­van­ced sys­tem - Win­dows and its de­ve­lop­ment was ce­a­sed in 2000. At the ti­me of its grea­test fa­me, se­ve­ral thou­sand ga­mes de­sig­ned spe­ci­fi­cal­ly for com­pu­ters with this sys­tem we­re cre­a­ted.
